ENGLISH

The Laela Sweater is a classic piece suitable for any wardrobe. Its broken rib pattern makes the knitting interesting and motivating. The pattern is suitable for advanced beginners; despite its polished result, the knitting is quite simple to execute. For a little background, Laela is the name of my daughter, and I wanted to honor her with this timeless and soft sweater, featuring a small V-neck for a feminine touch. The pattern offers two V-neck depths and two sleeve styles; choose according to your preference. If you opt for fingering yarn, your fabric will be airy with plenty of drape, perfect for spring and summer. If you choose to knit it in DK weight yarn, your fabric will be denser, ideal for colder seasons. The pattern is adaptable to your needs.

SIZE GUIDE
The Laela Sweater is designed to have approximately 15 cm 6 inches of positive ease, meaning it is 15 cm 6 inches wider than your bust circumference.
The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed for a bust circumference of 75.5 (85) 94 (104) 113.5 (123) 132 (142) 152 cm 30 (34) 38 (41-1/2) 46 (49) 53 (57) 60 inches, resulting in a finished garment with a circumference of 90.5 (100) 109 (119) 128.5 (138) 147 (157) 167 cm 36 (40) 44 (47-1/2) 52 (55) 59 (63) 66 inches.

If you are between sizes, I recommend choosing the larger size.
The model in the photo is wearing size S with a bust circumference of 34 inches, with the Tibetan Cloud by Myak in color Wild Daisy for version 1 and with Linen Quill by Purl Soho in the color eggshell blue for version 2.

SWEATER CONSTRUCTION
The first step is to construct the back of the sweater. You will start by casting on the number of stitches for the upper back, then knit the back flat in pattern, creating short rows to shape the back. After putting the back stitches on hold, you will pick up stitches from the left and right shoulders, increasing for the neck. The front will then be knitted flat. The final step of the yoke is to join the front and back. The body will then be knitted in the round in pattern. The collar stitches will be picked up for an I-cord finish, and the sleeve stitches will be picked up at the armholes and knitted in the round in pattern.
