The first step is to knit the back of the sweater. You will start by casting on the required number of stitches for the upper back, then work flat, incorporating short rows to create a trapezoidal shape. Once the back stitches are put on hold, you will pick up the stitches for the left and right shoulders and work a few short rows before making increases for the neckline. The two shoulders will then be joined flat. The front will also be worked flat. The final step of the yoke is to join the front and back.
The body will then be worked in the round, using colorwork, with a ribbed finish at the bottom. The neckline will be knit in the round with ribbing, and the sleeve stitches will be picked up along the armholes. The sleeves will be knit in the round in colorwork, with decreases and ribbing at the cuffs.A COMPLETE TUTORIAL IS INCLUDED WITH THE PATTERN
